Spell check is NOT your friend.
Week of October 3rd, 2010

Today wee went to the mall to get some shirts. We weighted what seemed like 2 hours to right a check. The girl behind the desk cached the check rite away, butt the machine broke write than and their. O I WAZ PISSED, that girl didn't no what she had done. Can you spot the errors? If you become too reliant on spell check, you too will be sending out email messages and Facebook updates like the one above. Please read and then re-read before pushing print/publish. And remember: Spell check can only help those that help themselves.

Increase your Vernacular.
Week of September 27th, 2010

Whoever your audience may be, work diligently to increase your vernacular, to match that of your audience. If your audience is more affluent, learn your Latin roots and study more rhetoric. If your audience is young, learn slang and abbreviations! Be careful, because slang is constantly changing and words can mean different things in other cultures and subcultures. Stay up-to-date, websites like urbandictionary.com are here to help!
Think about it, would you speak to a 6 year old with the same vernacular, as you would your boss or your friends?
